Spring is in the air, and Kidder Brook Farm is starting up their lesson program for 2009 year. We welcome back or students from last year and our future horseback riders to come!

This spring we are offering an affordable Spring Fling program to encourage students and parents to ride off on the right foot and be knowledgeable in all aspects of horsie horsemanship life. Riders will participate in a variety of activities to help them be well-rounded horseback riders.

This will include:
  • Participating in a farrier or demonstration (how horses hoofs are trimmed and how they get shoes).
  • Hippology (the judging of horse confirmation / learning parts of the horse).
  • Learning the spectrum of horse tack available / how to use it properly.
  • Learning and taking part in feeding and general maintenance of horses.
  • And of course riding their desired discipline of either hunter on the flat / over fences, western or dressage.
  • For more advanced students these options may be compensated or enhanced with a variety of horse training techniques and learning how to prepare for horse shows.

The cost is $130 per 6 week session and includes a half-hour riding lesson per week as well as experiencing one of our demonstrations for an hour once a week along with fellow students. During demonstrations parents are encouraged to take part in yummy wine and cheese available.

Dates Available: April 1 through May 1
