Spring / Summer 2006

Hello all!
Spring has come, well at least on the calendar it has, I am not sure that the weather makers were notified! We have had some signs of spring in the arrival of a new foal on the farm, Kidder Brook's Step On By had her first foal, a beautiful filly, who was born at 10:15 in the morning last Saturday the 18th of March. She is a wonderful precocious and friendly filly!  Look at her pictures here. We are all excited about her arrival. We have 2 more foals coming this year, Daisy will be having her foal next, probably within the next couple of weeks, which will give us a much needed break from foal watch. Then of course Polly our other Gypsy mare will have her foal a little later in the spring.  We will have foals for sale so stay tuned!

Another sign of spring is how much our calendar is filling up, despite the cold weather we have some diehards out for lessons, and our arena is in excellent shape and ready for business! We have added some new lesson horses, a wonderful quiet old gentleman named Alfie, who can quietly teach students how to walk, trot, canter, and jump, with security and style. Another new addition is a very pretty quarter horse mare named Zeena, who goes English and western and has so far been a wonderful addition to our program.

Winnie and Neena have found a wonderful home just down the road here in Ashford with Greg and Tammy, they will stay there on lease until their foals are weaned and then come back to us to proceed with lessons themselves. We are very happy to have found them such a safe and happy place to be!

We are also excited about our upcoming spring events, we are hosting seminars of all sorts and would like to do 2 a month for the next few months. Our first will be for the true beginner, we will discuss things to do with getting started with horses, we will include seeking out and selecting programs, cost of horses, appropriate selection of horses when shopping, all sorts of stuff like that!  The second will be about first aid and emergency care of horses, so that should be very helpful to a lot of people. If you have any thoughts about something you would like to learn about, let us know!  Well that's about all for now, there not much time for typing these days!

Hope to see everyone soon! Give us a call and come for a visit!
Look forward to seeing you!
